Meeting OSHA's HAZWOPER Requirements
What's Covered - This series of 18 courses meets the requirements outlined by OSHA for 8 hours of HAZWOPER annual refresher training for workers at hazardous waste sites.
What's NOT Covered - While this set of courses is designed to meet OSHA's HAZWOPER annual refresher requirements, your employer must provide any other site-specific and job-specific training deemed necessary. This set of courses does NOT cover:
- Incident Review Requirements – To meet OSHA's HAZWOPER incident review requirement, your employer must provide incident review training and any other site-specific and job-specific training deemed necessary by your employer.
- Hands-On Training – Your employer is expected to provide hands-on training, have a qualified trainer available for questions, and determine what additional training is needed to satisfy your training program requirements.
Use of Computer-Based Training – OSHA states that computer-based training is acceptable for HAZWOPER refresher training with the following requirements:
- It must cover topics that are relevant to a worker's assigned duties.
- It must be supplemented by the opportunity to ask questions of a qualified trainer (provided by your employer).
- It must be supplemented by an assessment of hands-on performance of work tasks.
Course Certificate - Upon successful completion of each course within this series, you will be provided a certificate of completion. This certificate is NOT designed in compliance with OSHA's HAZWOPER documentation requirements. You or your employer must complete written documentation that displays information in compliance with OSHA requirements. Records must be maintained for a minimum of 5 years after the date the employee participated in the training.
